A few tips...

When planning your music...
The music and musicians you choose for your event will have a significant impact on its success. However, beyond this, there are several other important factors to keep in mind.  We've included a few basic thoughts to help you in your planning.

You'll need to establish where the musicians will play.

  • Will it be indoors or outdoors?

If indoors, what is the nature of the room?  Is it small, large, well lit?

You'll want your musicians to be:
    (1) heard (how will sound travel best?)
    (2) seen (since live music is visual as well as auditory)
    (3) able to set up, play and not be in the way of your guests

If outdoors, there are additional factors.  For example, string instruments cannot be exposed to either direct sun or rain.  Cold and hot temperatures are also detrimental.

  • Seating, lighting...

Either way, there should be appropriate seating (for example, no arms & straight back) and proper lighting (the musicians need to be able to read the music).  Incidentally, you should expect the musicians to take short breaks (eg. 10 minutes each hour).  We can help with all these details.  Feel free to contact us with questions you may have.

  • How
To book Quattro for your special event, go to our contact page and send us an e-mail.  We'll reply by e-mail or telephone (if you provide your phone number in the message) and we'll walk you through all the details and quote you a rate.

  • When
When booking, make sure you give yourself enough time.  Late spring through fall is when musicians are busiest with weddings.  December brings parties and special events.  Early spring is also a busy time.  On top of that there are the demands of orchestras and other performances.

Generally speaking, you should try to book your music as much in advance as possible.  It's recommended that you make the arrangements at least 3 months ahead for "peak seasons" and 1-1/2 months for other times.  However, we often have dates booked 6 months to a year down the road so book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

  • Pssst... If you ever find yourself needing music at short notice, though, it can't hurt to check if we're available.
